I have a question about touches

I have had several touches in the last week. I have also spoken to the California Service Center several times this week. Does anyone know if you get a touch if you call and ask about the status of your case? Or does this mean they are probably working on things behind the scene as well?

I have heard that a call MAY trigger a touch.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am wondering why anyone would call USCIS several times in any given week? I think it only slows down the processing of an application, and slows down the whole agency.

Unless you have a specific issue or are outside of the processing times calling USCIS is a useless endeavor. They generally will NOT give you any helpful information. We all know the waiting is difficult but you will eventually get there. Many of us that filed in the summer of 2008 waited 5 - 7 months for an approval!!

Well I am not calling USCIS just to bug them. I got an RFE and I have been calling to verify that they recieved my information. I understand that you shouldn't call them just to chat.

Of course you should follow up on that! I wish you good luck in getting through to anyone that can give you the information you need. I hope it all works out.

Betsy, I called today, and I immediatley check on line, showed no touches, but several hours later, it changed to todays date, so not sure if I caused it, or if they did something with my case. I dont think there is a true answer for your question dear.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
