Yes, you can talk to someone, but they do not give you specifics about what is going on, just very general info. I am looking for more specific information. And it is not just a 2 hour drive from Raleigh to Charlotte...more like 3 hours.

The only way to get detailed info from uscis is with a congressional inquiry

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

you'll need to demand to speak to a supervisor after that if you demand more info, the supervisor will transfer your call to someone that might know something....

I'll see how lucky I am if they send me an email and tell me what's really going on. It would be nice if they would give you more information over the phone after you take the trouble to call and wade through an impossible menu to get to someone.
1. They don't call it the "misinformation line" for nothing. Also, don't expect politeness; expect a robotic script. Cut them off and request to be escalated to an immigration officer. You WILL receive flak for this; insist, and remind the customer-disservice drone that he/she IS required to escalate you upon your request.

2. OP, please update your timeline. And don't hold your breath waiting on an e-mail from anybody; one must be proactive. Finally, the left sidebar of your messages says that you filed for a CR-1; why is your question posted in the K-3 forum?

3. Foreigners cannot call and receive information during the petition process. The frustration is reversed during AOS, when only the foreigner can call (or must be on the line when the USC calls) in order to receive information on the progress of AOS, EAD, or AP (advance parole).

Please don't use the prompts for an address change unless you are inquiring about a change of address.

There used to be a prompt where you could ask to speak to a Customer Service Representative if you had an RFE. After a couple of years of abuse of that prompt, it was removed.

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!
