Seriously. Teach your kids to judge people by their physical appearance and the President is held to a lower standard than a radio personality. That is bad parenting.

Try to be a little more honest here...it's not that difficult to see that I was throwing right back on El Rushbo, his same tactics he does on others. I think some people take Rush a little too seriously. Is he a serious journalist? No. Is he an academic or an expert in any field? No. What he is is a muckracker. I know i'm probably going to get roasted by some on this forum. However, I refuse to believe that all, or even a plurality of conservatives are so ignorant and closed minded that they take his word as the conservative gospel. Yes, there are quite a few "Dittoheads" who just parrot the talking points that they heard on his show, but there are liberals who fall under the same category.

I think the problem with politics today is that they are far too polarized. There is absolutely no room for debate with far too many self-styled conservatives and democrats. This may sound un-American, but I think we need more parties. Come on people, join the Libertarian party, we have cookies

Seriously - I think people are generally more militant on these forums than they are in real life. The conservatives I know irl are reasonable people - then again I think we have the mutual respect to not get into detailed discussions of political issues, though we obviously disagree on a number of things.

When we do discuss politics - its not the "Us Vs. Them" stuff that characterises VJ O/T.

People like to argue in the O/T and there's a relative luxury in not having to be particularly respectful of those we disagree with. At least - that's how it goes.
