I've been chatting with relatives in Mexico City and they say that the situation is worrying but the media is blowing it out of proportion.

The illness is real, but not how the media pictures it...

the media blows everything out of proportion. the fact that people died is terrible. the fact that the WHO is raising the pandemic level is worrying. to not be worried is denial.

PBS radio is having a blast with it, national emergency, don't travel to Mexico, etc. 40 cases in the USA, 20 in NYC, only one is hospitalized, much milder case of the pig flu, most have recovered from it.

Wasn't it two years ago a scare about the bird flu? Now the pig flu, next year will be the rat flu.
