My fiance and I are not married yet. But I have decided to start looking through all the requirements for my adjustment of status. I noticed that I am required to submit a copy of our NOA2 "approval" for I-129F. I can't find it and I have no idea what it looks like. When would we have been given the NOA2? It wouldn't have been in the package that I had to give to immigration on my arrival would it? Sorry, these are probably very silly questions! I just want to make sure I have everything right.

it would have come to the petitioner in the mail from the USCIS notifying you of petition approval... On form I-797C

YMMV

The NOA2 would have been sent in the mail to the USC petitioner shortly before you received packet 3 from your embassy. It was definitely not in the package you gave to immigration! And yes, you will need it for AOS. I hope you can find it; I believe the charge fora replacement is about $400

Holy Moley! I'm going to have to get cracking and find it. I don't ever remember seeing one before. Our whole application process was a nightmare! It wouldn't have been sent to our lawyer would it? She had a habit of not passing on information.

We used a lawyer; it made no difference. USCIS sent my fiancee (now wife) the NOA2 direct. I believe they also sent a copy to the lawyer.
