Well.. as u all know that I was approved today....I am extremely sorry that I could not post the details earlier today... Here is my story...

Actually my K3 interview was scheduled on 26th April, and we went to embassy with a little hope that we may be interviewed on that day as DoS told my husband that embassy should process my IR1 at the time of K3 interview. So we were at the embassy by 7:15 am. There was a moderately long line full of DV and family IV applicants... We had to go through the usual security check, and this is where the medical sealed envelop is torned down by the security guards. We entered into the embassy .. It was aroung 9:00 o clock. We submitted our appointment letter for that day along with the medical report.... then waited for 20-30 min, and was called at the window 3. There was a bengali woman who actually explained me that they can't have a interview session for my IR1 visa on that day (May be they don't know or don't have the policy like other embassies). So she asked me to come back on 27th which is my actually date for IR1. She took my medical report as it was already torn .. and put it with my file....

So the BIG day comes on 27th....

We went at the embassy at 6:45 am. We made our car driver to stand in the long line of applicants while we were roaming around in a lake side near the embassy.. We then entered into the line at 7:45am, and was able to enter into the embassy by 8:30am after all sorts of security checks...Then we waited for a while...around half past 9, I was called at the window 3 by a bengali woman. She was ok...She simply asked my few question.

1. Who is the petitioner?

2. Is this our first Marriage?

3. If I have ever applied for US visa, if yes what kind of visa was it?

then she took my finger prints for all 10 fingers. Then she returned my original BC and PC and asked me to submit the my passport, 2 photos and a copy of my PC. After that, I asked her that if my husband can accompany me for the visa...She was like " YES HE CAN ENTER IN TO THE INTERVIEW WITH YOU" . So, I went out happily with the very first good news that US citizens can accompany there spouses in their interview...Then she told me to wait outside and a CO will call me for the interview soon.

So we waited another hour or something, and the big call was once heard... "S Sh D, please come to the window 6".. We (me and my husband) entered into the window 6. A nice caucasian young lady was waiting to interview us. Firstly she asked to me "What is your name?" and then to my husband the same question in addition to if he was my petitioner. Then she asked to sign the DS 230 Part II. After that I had to take a oath that I will tell only the truth and nothing but the truth. Then she started..

1. How did we meet?

2. Asked my husband to tell the story.

3. Asked my husband about his job details.

4. Asked me to show some photos of our wedding. (we took around 300 photos in 5 bundles.. showed her 2 bundles and she seemed satisfied)

5. How many times did he come after marriage? (I said 3 times, she said WOW!! thats gr8)

Nothing much after that..it was quite easy and simple....after that she uttered the magic word " Congratulation, ur Immigration Visa has been approved" and gave us a white slip where it mentioned to collect the passport on 28th.

So, we thanked her, came out laughing.......and we were happiest couple in the whole world.

The interview was in Bengali, no additional questionnaire was asked to submit...

Good Luck Every one...

Sonia

Grats - thanks for sharing!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Undoubtly it helps a lot when the USC spouse accompanies the beneficiary....Atleast I feel it was a huggeeee plus....Since they allow spouse till the end of the interview in the window....

So my suggestion for all Bangladeshis will be to attend the interview with their spouse....

Good Luck

Guys,

I got my CR-1 VISA too on 27th May and just coming from the US embassy collecting my VISA. Thanks to all mighty and I wish you all get the CR-1 or IR-1 VISA when you apply. Just make sure you have all the doc's they ask you to bring. Though they treat every case in a unique way but it seemed to me that haveing a lot of pictures is a good sign and it proves your relationship and the time line.

So good luck and, please if you need any suggesation about CR-1 please ask me, I'll try to help as much as I can.

Hi Sonia,

congrats and hope that you guys are living happily ever after. I have a few questions:

1) Did you submit the original marriage, birth certificate, police certificate to the NVC? Or did you submit them to the consulate? If you had submitted them to the NVC when did you get them back?

2) About the medical test: how long did it take? did you have to take shots?

Thank you very much and congrats again.

Hi Khaled,

This Kabir from dhaka & recently I had my interview with US embassy . But they gave me blue sheet 221(g) additional process .

Can you please tell me what question CO asked you & did they put your case on AP .

Me & my wife went to embassy & we both were present at the window where CO was taking our inteview . We have answered all his question then he told to wait us outside waiting room. After few mins he called me & ask some question to my wife . Then he gave us blue sheet & return my passport said you'll be contacted when we finally decide your case . But all of our marriage photo album & marriage certificate & police clearance kept there .

Now already passed two week still no call receive from them.

Can you please give me any idea about this additional processing .

My husband who is a US citizen and I went for an interview for my green card. when I applied I answered that I had no children on the application which was an honest misunderstanding we thought they were referring to having children in our marriage. we answered no on the app. however I have 2 children from a previous relationship and my husband also has 2. so the officer asked me at the interview if I had kids and I said yes and he asked why we did not disclose that and I honestly stated we thought they were referring to children in our marriage. me and my husband got separated and interviewed separately with a video camera. my lawyer who was present stated that we answered the questions 95% the same. how ever at the of the interview the officer said they review the app and let us know. Now am worried. they asked so many question about my kids father and asked for his name. Am just wondering to expect next has any bogy gone through something like this
