My cousin is an international student who married with American citizen. She did file paperwork with USCIS and just did biometric appointment. Now she is waiting for a scheduled interview. Her old student visa and I20 will end in May. She wants to transfer to the 4 year University. The questions are

Does she have to tell the new school that she's got married?

Does she need to apply for new I20?

What other steps does she need do in order to attend a new school while she is waiting for a scheduled interview?

Appreciate your helps!

Yes, why the secret?

Does she need to apply for new I20?

No, she already has one processing. She is not out of status since she has already filed her AOS.

What other steps does she need do in order to attend a new school while she is waiting for a scheduled interview?

Register for school and get a dorm room.

Appreciate your helps!

In my understanding, she is technically still a foreign visitor until she's adjust to a new status, hence, she will still need her school official to transfer her record on the SEVIS. Unless she wants to wait a couple month, once she gets her perm. resident status, she can just apply to any school she wants (like the rest of us good old Americans! :star: ).
