We've been using Western Union for 3 years now... I never thought its really expensive since the area where my husband lives is countryside.. Sigh

Anyways, we will try this xoom while im still here para ma experience ko lol..

Sana kung may account sya sa wells fargo mas madali kasi pwedi ka nyang kuhaan ng remittance card (ATM) dito sa US tapos ipadala jan sayo sa pinas with pin number na, pwedi mong i withdraw sa bank na accredited nila BPI or sa ATM machine na may kapareho ng sign sa likod ng ATM card "like credit", pag magpadala libre lang tapos withdraw mo nalang jan sa pinas gamit ang ATM, kung may account sya sa wells fargo pwedi syang mag transfer online di na kailangan punta ng bank libre pa, yan ang ginamit ko noon pag transfer pwedi mo makuha agad, at pag alis mo pwedi mo na rin iwan sa kamag-anak for future use o di ba...bongga!!!

cool info............how about WAMU or Chase Manhattan bank? may supplementary Debit and Credit card ako from hubby......so in short pwede ko na yon gamitin? i used the credit card quite few times pero yon na nga may transaction charges tapos per transaction yon... ......seriously, we want to stop using Western Union medyo mabigat na sa balikat ni fafa..............mga inday, naguluhan na rin ako, baka WU pa rin bagsak namin...salamat po.....from your bisaya vj friend.

Xoom is a lot cheaper than western Union. We have been using it since before. You can easily get ur money right after the transfer is done. Cebuana, BDO, SM,BPI, and some more supporting branches are servicing for it.

With State Farm Checking Account your hubby can have 2 Debit cards issued (with two different numbers so if yours gets lost or stolen he can cancel one and not the other).

The great thing about State Farm is since they are an online only bank (no physical branches) they REFUND ALL ATM FEES! You get the ease of access of using any ATM and pay no fees.

My wifie uses the local BDO ATM and she gets good exchange rate also.
