The immigration process as so far outpaced us :bonk: . Thanks to visajourney.com we are still in the run :blink: . The I130 we sent was approved in a very short time, short enough so that we didn’t send an I129F. So now we are going for a CR1. That is because we didn’t send the I129F after we sent the I130. The NVC was very fast because it dealt with us only electronically like for the 3032. First pay the $70 and then the $400. In fact the $400 were paid before we sent in the AOS package (In our case we used the I-864EZ and supporting documents). We will only be ready to send the IV packet May 9th because in part of the Thai police records that will only be ready on the 7th. The NVC is waiting :blush: . Once we get it, it will have to be translated and copied, twice. There is also a grey area about my (the petitioner) birth certificate because I was born overseas. Do they need the naturalization "diploma" instead? I will call them Monday to find out.

Well we are looking I think at June for the in interview and we started in Feb 23rd.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)
