Our interview is scheduled for August 14 according to the Russian Embassy Website. To my knowledge we have not received anything from the embassy and did not notify them we had the package together. I have received all the notices from USA that my application was approved and forwarded to Moscow-I thought Moscow sent my girl a letter asking for notification that she has the documents together for the interview before they scheduled the interview. I am a bit confused but also excited.

I guess we better get started getting together the police certificates. I have everything else.

All advice appreciated.

Same thing happened with us. I only found out about our interview from the embassy website. She received the packet a week or two after I told her about the interview date. They will just send her a packet with the forms and instructions. They assume she will be ready.

GET THE POLICE CERTIFICATES NOW!!!

If she has not lived outside of Russia you should have no trouble.

We had some difficulties with this......but that was another almost tragic story.

Look back at my post in March for a detailed run down of how the interview is conducted. It was a piece of cake for us, but there were other girls there that were in trouble. One girl did not have her forms filled out and was in shock to find out that "the attorney" was not going to take care of everything at the interview for her....No joke!

I think almost all VJ'ers do fine and are well prepared.

Thanks Neon, I have followed your threads for the past 8 months; by the way, you have a beautiful wife.

Congrats, castawaysailor!!! Feels good, huh? We found out the interview date the same way, and the way it worked for us, I found out via the internet first, then told her the date over the phone or e-mail or something like that, then a couple of weeks later, her packet arrived. The embassy schedules the interview date, and it's her responsibility to have everything done. (Like the Government would actually "accomodate" anyone! Although, they did extend our date out a little.... don't think they'll move them up though.) They'll send that packet to the address listed on her G-325A and the I-129F.

Now..... get your I-134 and all other necessary (if you're going to do tax info, employer letter, bank statement, etc.) financial "support" documents together and send all that to her with copies of the K-1 packet that you sent in.

Have her get the police checks from all addresses listed on the G-325A (and I think all addresses in the last 10 years or since age 16 as required on the DS-156(K), not sure about how far back, Elena only had two to get, so your girl may be good as well. Neon and several other guys had to get third country checks, so you may be in that boat as well, don't know. GOOD LUCK! Really though, it's no sweat, just start NOW!!!)

And... use this time to establish a little more "proof" of an ongoing relationship. Send her (Snail Mail) some letters and pictures, etc., so that when she goes to the embassy, they will see that you guys are "still in love" even after all the BS waiting. When Elena had her interview, she said the woman was impressed that I wrote her several letters in Russian. (I used the Promt/Paralink web translation, then hand-copied that onto the paper, or printed it out, then signed. Each time though, the envelopes were hand-written in Russian, so the interviewer was impressed that I took the time to learn to write Cyrillic letters. It was real hard (SARCASM!) and it may be worth it for you too, if you don't know how to already.)

In the mean time.... kick back, stay patient for just a little while longer, and take comfort in the fact that it really is going to happen! Good luck!!!
