Hi VJ members,

I paid my IV bill yesterday(in process) and I am still not ready with my Police clearance certificates.Actually I think I am going to be stuck here for some time because of this.Does anybody has any idea how long can we take to mail the IV packet after IV bill shows paid?

My husband went to the District police and they are giving him a run around. It seems like its going to to take a month or so...He has to take it from two places in Mumbai. He is from Andamans and he got his passport from Andamans in 2008 when he went for his vacation as his permanent address is of Andamans. He has to get his passport clearance from Andamans once his local police clearance is done in Mumbai.

I have mentioned his mumbai address in all forms.I hope all this does not create more delays...

any similar situations or experiences???

Please help.

Thanks

san2009,

I don't know the answer and I suspect not lot of people know it too. My suggestion is for you to call NVC and talk to operator to find the answer.

Also, call them 2-3 times on different days/time to make sure you get same answer from all operators.

Hi Champi & jm &mcs,

Thank you for responding

I called NVC and the operator said that I just need to send district local police clearance from the last place of stay and

that I dont need to send the passport clearance certificate to NVC now.Beneficiary can bring the PCC from passport office to the Interview.

Also she said that If the beneficiary stayed in different countries then we need to send one for each country.

I have to call again to speak to a different operator to confirm this.

I told her that my husband has stayed only two years in his present address and she said thats fine.I hope this is true.

My husband went to the district police and they said it may take about a week or so for the PCC because of the elections.

I hope and pray for the best for all of us in this journey.
