Re-Org and new Forum

New Organization of Forums:

I have moved some forums that related to family immigration (visa process) into the first major category. The second major category now primarily discusses post-visa issues such as aos, work permits, ap, removing conditions, citizenship, etc.. I think this new structure will help to make the site easier to understand and navigate for both new and old members (well.. us legacy members may have to get used to it!).

New Forum:

I am not sure on the proper placement, but for now it is in the General Discussion category Immigration Discussion for US Visa Holders and Permanent Residents. For a while there has been "no place" for people to post any non-family related topics. The VJ community has many people that often are involved in immigration issues that may diverge from strictly "family based". I recognize that there is a need for a proper place for them to post this information other than Off Topic or in other forums that "seem to fit". Now there is a central location which can act as a 'catch all' for these discussions.

How about an easy to find place for those of us that are in denial ( real denial not just slowed up for more info ) to gather. For those of us that get hit with returned petitions and outright denial we could really need an easy tp locate place for information and support rather than the corners of the high fraud regional discussions.

What a fabulous idea. I add here an expression of frustration that the personal Visa Timelines have no places for "denied at first interview," "221(g)," etc. I believe that much more meaningful statistics -- and more-revealing data for future interviewees -- could be gained if the Timelines were to include such information. Is it known how many "denied" VJ members simply disappeared from VJ in total, or specifically because there was no way for them to record what befell them?

I know there should be a timeline function for denials There is no real way to do any statistics for what happens after . How many continue ? How long to get together if you continue . I am sitting at about 550 days since I filed and have no clue about when something will happen. Am I frustrated to death Yes. There are too many of us in this land of the lost and it is the hardest part of any visa journey. Why isn;t there a spot for the hardest of the family visa paths ?

Many people with returned petitions want specific information separate from those that are just in AP . And we aren't at the point yet where we need waviers. Mostly we need shoulders to cry on and people who know what to do. A topic or sustopic for petitions that came back without the benificiary I am at 18 months... no hope no help..... rescue me someone.... the panic at first is unbelievable. AP is a list of things you do to get a visa... like a giant RFE but denial and return is never never land
