We both wear our wedding rings outside. we take them off in the house and put them in ring holders, to preserve them.

Saludos,

Caro

I cannot imagine not wearing my wedding band all the time... Call me cheesy but every day is a special occasion to me. It makes me feel good when I glance over my hand and see that shiny little thing on my finger ... puts smile on my face every time.

What's weird is that I hate jewelry and I never wore any rings before, they used to itch and just plain bother me. But the wedding band I love wearing, and for couple of minutes when I do have it off, I feel like my whole arm is missing. I only take mine off when I am cleaning with harsh chemicals or when I am washing the dishes by hand (neither happens very often, I'll tell you that :))

I wear it on my left hand. Husband wears his on his right hand 'cause he is a good Muslim like that :) Me...not so much:) I am too americanized :)))

The same was true for me too. I'm not much of a jewelery person, if I ever tried to wear rings or watches I'd be fiddling with them and ultimately take them off and put them in a pocket or something.

When I got my engagement ring I was determined that I wasn't going to do that, I was going to wear it continuously until I got used to it...I found that when I had it sized properly that it was nothing AT ALL to wear it 24 hours a day. I think you'll find that a reputable jeweler (not a chain place though) will size your ring for $15 - $45 dollars ($15 for making it smaller, and up for making it larger depending on material), and they can measure your finger to get it just right too.

4 months later, and I only take it off when cleaning, putting on hand lotion, or climbing mountains (granite wins over soft metals when scrambling every time! - learned that the hard way. :()

I love looking down at my ring and remembering that it's a promise that Nik's coming back to me soon, and I can't wait to have the wedding ring next to it to remind me that he's already home!

Oh, and be careful if you elect to go with materials which are not precious metals like Titanium. If there is a medical emergency (hand injury etc), emergency personnel do NOT have equipment to cut it off of your hand. Some places will make you sign a waiver for that, but I'm not sure about all of them. So...be aware. I'm not sure what happens when a finger swells and there's a ring on but....

Del and I both wear rings. He now wears a silver band on his right hand (to signify that we are engaged, custom here in Brazil) but he wears it around his neck while he is at work -hes a mechanic. I wear my american engagement ring on my left hand (which is not the custom here in Brazil, but its okay with me if they already think Im married!). It's got a single diamond on it, so it doesnt look like a traditional brazilian wedding/engagement ring, but that's okay.

Once we get married Del will switch his silver ring for a gold one, but I'll just keep my engagement ring until we get to the states. The top of my ring is twisted so I need to get the wedding band made to fit my engagement ring (it didnt come in a set). We might try to do that here in brazil, but well do it where ever ends up being cheaper.

Always wear our wedding rings unless we're washing dishes or taking a shower or something like that.

Things are going a little backwards for us. We spent all our money on the immigration process so not enough money left over for an engagement ring.

I should be getting one for my religious ceremony in Peru. I really don't care, the most important thing to me is being together and happy. :star:

I can't count on one hand the number of friends that have been engaged and then called off the wedding or then gotten married and then divorced. They all had expensive engagement rings. It's karma :)

I wear both -- my engagement ring (silver with seven diamonds; it's arranged beautifully, one big one in the middle and three on each side forming a triangle -- The Husband has good taste) and my gold wedding band we purchased in India. Hubby wears his wedding band too.

I think there's something terribly sexy about a man who is willing to wear his commitment on the finger for all the world to see.

We both do. Gold bands as is the cultural norm both here and in Brazil.

I know this is the norm but I love silver jewelry and always wear (silver) rings, necklaces, bracelets; so, I asked my husband when he was in Brazil to buy us silver wedding rings. He did and I'm grateful because I'd feel weird wearing a gold wedding band with my silver ring.
