When to file N-400?

Hi All,

This might be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere...

When are you eligible to file for N-400? I know the requirement is 3yrs, but I have seen timelines with people filing less than 3 years since receiving their greencard (I think I heard something about 90 days rule similar to I-751)

My permanent residency started on 7/12/06, does that mean I am eligible to file for N-400?

Also does anyone know how long it takes from filing to oath in NYC?

You should be eligible to file since you're in the 90 day period before your 3rd anniversary as a PR. I'm also filing in New york and the processing times are very variable from what I see on this forum. The initial processing up to the interview is an average 5-6 months but the oath ceremony will really depend on your local office, frequency of ceremonies, number of applicants,etc..

I just went over the application again, and lo and behold, the 90 days rule that missed the previous time is right there, so I will be sending in my application in the next couple of days.
