I just got something in the mail, that I was hoping would be my NOA2, but I don't think it is... It appears to be a response to an email that I wrote a few weeks ago. (It starts like this: "Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. The NVC has completed the process of the petition mentioned in your letter...")

So good news that our petition has moved on.... but what happened to my NOA2? I have called twiced trying to correct the typo they made on my zip code, but I still haven't gotten it! What do I do?? Keep calling until somebody gets it right??

I know I need the hard copy for the AOS application... this is frustrating....

Keep calling your service center. For your information the NOA 2 looks very similar to the NOA 1. You almost could not tell them apart. Same paper and type as the NOA 1.

The good news is that if you have heard from the NVC it means your NOA 2 went though. All you have to do now is call you local service center and tell them the NOA 2 was not delivered and you need it.

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything

My NOA2 didn't look anything like my NOA1. My NOA1 was on a green paper while my NOA2 was printed on plain white paper, with a different layout. It did give my number for the Guangzhou Consolute to use though (the GUZ number).

Thanks,

The GUZ number you refer to is the number assigned to your case by NVC and is nothing to do with the NOA2 for approval that one receives from the service center. The NOA's from the service center will be either an I-797 or an I-797C. Did you get the NOA2 approval notice from the service center?

Have you checked your case status on the USCIS website? Does it say your case is approved or still pending?

Our case was approved and sent to the NVC but the computer was never updated at the USCIS. We ended up receiving our visa (and Eliana arriving in the US) with our case still "pending" according to the USCIS.

Our case was sent to the NVC 4 months ago and we are still waiting (after many calls and writing my Senators) for the NOA2. At least Eliana is here waiting with me.

Oh my gosh that is terrible!! I did the same (called the NVC to see if they received our petition and they told me that had) but thank God, I just received this email yesterday:

"This case has been approved. On June 26, 2006, an approval notice was mailed.

If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to

verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an

Immigration Information Officer during business hours."

I have to cross my fingers that it arrives soon!

This is what is on the USCIS website in reference to my K1 visa:

Receipt Number:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On April 7, 2006, this approved or re-affirmed case was shipped to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State.

I received three letters in the mail:

1. The I-797C, Notice of Action listing the LIN number (green form).

2. The I-797, Notice of Action (Notice Type: Approval Notice Valid From 04/03/2006 to 08/03/2006) (green form).

3. White 8 1/2" x 11" stating the GUZ number.

Is item #2 my NOA2?

Thanks
