potential problem?

Hi,

When my husband and I were married we lived at address A.(rental) We applied for aos there, and stayed there for about 8 months. Then we moved to address B. (rental) We didnt know we had to change our address with USCIS. We found out as we were moving to address C (which we purchased together). Just before we moved to address C we changed online my (PR) address to address B, but not my husband USC, as we didnt know.

When we moved to address C I filled online my PR address change, and mailed in the form to change the sponsers USC address.

Today, our landlord from address A sends us a letter that USCIS sent there to tell me to remove conditions.

I am very worried that this is going to cause problems. They should know I am living at address C as I filed the change last year when we moved in.

Is this going to cause problems? Should I file again to change my address? (fwiw, I called USCIS and they said they cannot confirm addresses on file over the phone).

I am also having trouble getting out 2008 tax transcripts as they are not going to be ready on time, so this is just what I need, something else to stress about.

Any thought?

Thanks

USCIS can and does confirm addresses over the phone.

They did for me, several times, on occasion that they lost my conditional GC... twice.

Just call again and hope for a different answer

However, to ensure USCIS really knows your address, you have to make an Infopass appointment and update your address in person.

It is well known (USCIS personel including) that their databases don't cross reference well and so address problems are quite common.

Good luck!

Don't worry about tax transcripts - send the copies of the tax return that you have - I have never sent them transcripts - always sent unsigned copies of tax returns (I file electronically). That's not a problem at all. Good Luck

thanks for the replies.

When I compile our package, should I address this issue in a cover letter?

I was planning to do a cover letter anyway, but should I just explain this evidence is at address A, this is evidence from address B, and this is evidence from address C, and not bother to explain that I updated the records late?

At this point to they really care about where I was for the 2 years, as long as they know where i live now?

Also, do I need an infopass to change address, its that better than doing it over the internet again?

Thanks so much
