Hi all

Firstly, many thanks for creating this amazing resource, it has provided much help to myself and my wonderful American financee.

We're now in the position where our petition has been approved, and the US Embassy in London has sent me "Packet 3". Could I just confirm a point I don't quite understand...

I understand I need to return: DS-230 Part 1, DS-156, and DS-157. DS-156K. (some in duplicate).

I noticed when reading DS-156K that it mentions my documents "must be attached" to apply for the finance visa, and now I'm confused. I thought all these forms went with me to the interview (financial support, police certificate etc), is this correct? Do I just need to return the above forms to the embassy (followed by the checklist when I have everything compiled) and haul all my paperwork to the interview, or should I be sending this with the forms :help:

Thank you so much for any help, and all the help I've already found on this site :) I can't wait to be with the girl of my dreams for good!

All the best

Hi I'm in exactly the same boat as you and I was wondering about this too. Sorry that I don't have the answer but I'm equally as confused!!

just read that part of the form myself

for my consulate, sydney, all of the things they ask to attach have to be sent back at the same time as that form anyway- that's just their rules.

if your consulate, as i know some do, don't ask you to send that stuff, and just to bring it on the day, then maybe it's a different situation. try reading about your consulate at 'embassy info' above or waiting for someone else to help.

my guess is, if they tell you to bring this stuff on the day of the interview, but to mail in the form, do that and disregard what it says about attaching it- but that is only a guess!!
