Consular staff

i guess this is good , it was pending AP last wednesday , and yes i can share my interview experience ,

we went there at 7 am , were called as usual there was an egyptian lady who joked with us and said u are still asleep , i was there with my wife . lateron we were called to an american , i said good morning , she replied very politely , she said i will just take fingerprints , then she said we will call ur number again , number was called again same woman ,

she asked us 3 questions

how did u know her? i answered and my wife answered .

she joked with my wife and said u know arabic since u stayed in egypt for more than 9 months .

then she said what do you like about her ?

and she was asking my wife what field of study she is studing in college , hahaha , she was joking with my wife and she said great , when re you leaving back to the states , we said end of june , she said ohh , you will ofcourse get ur visa before this , i wanted to show her pics or boarding passes , she said no i will approve it it will be sent to u in two weeks but sorry it might take longer because few of our colleges left and we are working with minimum staff ,

my experience there was excellent . most of the people there are police especially american visa staff ,

But be prepared to wait for hours .

wish me good luck ,

Good luck all

KHPerfectMatch (F) Hope you are doing well!

My BIL is 19 and so far he's been to Spain, England and Holland. He's able to travel because there are three brothers (one in the military) and its been for work (dancing shows he does) however, they denied him a VISA to the US. Go figure.

Hi Nawal, we're doing great, Green Card and Driver's License both came in yesterday's mail... When it rains it pours!!!!

MENA men under the age of 45, or maybe even 55, are about as likely to get a tourist Visa to the USA as I am to fit in a size 2 bikini someday before I die! And that isn't very likely!

The requirements are EXTREME and out of reach to 95% of Egyptians. They must be able to show strong "ties" to Egypt that will force them to return... Own Property, have children/wives to return to, good high paying job, big bank account, etc. etc. And then pass all the security stuff too...

I sent a letter of invitation, etc. to my "cousin" (by a previous marriage) who is over 45, and has all of those things, plus works as a chief Engineer for the Port of Alexandria (I had a letter from the Port in my city inviting him to visit and exchange ideas with them... because we have a lot of ships from Egypt that come here to get wheat...) and he didn't get past first base... not even close...

I'm guessing your brother in law's visas are not considered "tourist" because he's there for work reasons that can be verified... ??? Anyway you look at it getting here is much harder than anywhere else....
