DS-156 - Photo?

Might seem like a stupid question, but on the DS-156 just below the barcode, there is a space for a photo which says to glue or staple one there.

It might seem a little silly but in the rush I forgot to ask about this yesterday and had my package together in a sealed envelope but it just struck me to open it again.

Do I definitely need to have a picture glued to this, or can I get away sending the forms as is and not risk an RFE?

You don't need to stick photos on. You take the photos with you to the Embassy on the day of your interview & the CO sticks them on while you're there.
