Oh this thread...good! I was just looking for a place to post this, and I just PM'd Sukes, but in case she doesn't get it right away, or if anyone else knows....

I think Girona posted in the VJ recipes thread..but after skimming 20 pages I couldn't find it; maybe I overlooked it or maybe it's somewhere else? It was for sausage rolls made with Jimmy Dean sage sausage and puff pastry? Does anyone else have it? If not, Sarah will likely get her message before too long...that's a great thread...was just enjoying looking at it again..does anyone know when the ebook will be done? I know Wenchie must be SO busy getting ready to come over, so she probably has had zero time to look at that...but I can't wait for it to be 'published' M.

Marilyn...didn't realize I had left this screen up...I got my recipe and ran...hahahah. Was disappointed that our little store here no longer carries puff pastry, so I'll have to wait a couple of days til I go into a bit bigger town, but thank you!! for finding me the recipe...you're a peach, just like Dixie! :) :) M.

I rarely measure!! So send the shepherds pie my way! That was the meal my fiance made for me for my birthday the first year we were together. We promptly both got the tummy flu after! *haa ha* really it was the flu not the food, but he has yet to cook for me fully again! *grin* But we both love it.

Congrats on your RFE, I assume it was Imbra related!?

I have lots of good recipes so ask anytime. I would love to have your what was it? a chicken basil curry?

I have been making red and green curries a lot lately...

Ohh and I made a fantastic peanut sauce a few days ago!!

Let me know how the pizza goes!

yes the dreaded and well-waited-for IMBRA RFE. this is a fun thread so i wont even get started! hahaha. again ive improvised quite a bit from the original recipe so please just bear with me. im bad at measurements. i like tasting while cooking to get just the right blend of everything

so for my Shepherds pie...

preheat oven 350 degrees

Mashed potato "Crust"

potatoes

salt

pepper

butter or margarine

milk

minced garlic

grated parmesean cheese

grated cheddar cheese

Boil your potatoes as you would when doing mashed potatoes. My roommate boils her potatoes with half stock (chicken or veggie) and half water. it turns out pretty good but i like mine in just plain water. drain the liquid from the potatoes. Add butter, salt, milk, pepper, garlic and cheeses. I prefer freshly minced garlic coz it makes it more flavorful. mix well until there is a smooth consistency and it has the taste that you'd like. dont overdo the milk please you dont want watery mashed potatoes. i suggest adding a little amount of milk at a time until you get the right consistency. again, it is all a matter of preference on how you want your mashed potatoes. here's what i think, if you can eat it without gravy and enjoy it, then it's good! :D

Shepherds pie filling

butter or margarine

garlic chopped

1 small onion finely chopped

about a pound of ground beef

1 small bag store bought frozed mixed veggies (with carrots, corn, greenbeans)

salt

pepper

knorr liquid seasoning , if your store doesnt have it, ordinary soy sauce will do.

brown the garlic in butter, add the onions and sautee it until onions are transparent. add the ground beef. add some salt and pepper. go easy on the salt and pepper, you can always add more as you are cooking. sautee the beef until it is browned. drain excess oil from the pan and add the frozen vegggies. add a tablespoon of knorr or soy sauce. sautee until the veggies are tender.

always remember that it is always easier to add flavor while you are cooking. :)

divide the mashed potatoes in two portions. drain the beef filling. In a deep glass baking dish (i usually use the 9x11 one or a square one) put a layer of mashed potatoes at the bottom of the dish. about a third to half of an inch thick. add a layer of the beef filling. Make sure that your beef mixture has been drained well before you put it in so your bottom crust wont get extra soggy. you can add as much as you want,( i put about the same amount -- 1/3 to 1/2 of an inch) but please leave room for more mashed potatoes for the top layer. layer the rest of the mashed potatoes on the top layer. :) bake at 350 for about 20-30 minutes or up until you see the top of the pie turn golden brown.

if you have any left over beef, just store it and you can make burritos or quesadillas (just add cheese) or mix it with rice for fried rice the next day. :)

tah daaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!! haha im at work right now i dont feel like working. hihihi
