Hello,

I am new to this forum, I have tried to find information about my problem all over the internet but couldn't find anything helpful.

Maybe you can help me with this.

My Husband and me are married since almost 4 years now, we have one child but our son is not my husbands biological child.

We met when I was already 3 months pregnant and he raises Brian like it was his own.

My husband is in the Army and we moved to the USA in May 2007, me and Brian with a conditional permanent resident card.

So, now it was time to start the I-751 to remove the conditions. We sent everything required along with the check for 625 $ (fee plus biometrics for two).

We received the biometrics appointment for me for May 9th 2009. And I was wondering why we didn't get a biometrics for our son too until I realized that I made a big mistake. Brian received a NOA, and it states BRIAN NARVIK SHORT on the letter. This is wrong. He has my maiden name as his last name and we didn't get to changing it to my husband's name yet. So I checked the I-751 on my PC again, and yes, it was my mistake. I wrote the wrong last name for my son. Don't ask me why this happend. Often when we goofing around with Brian, we say BRIAN NARVIK SHORT, just because it sounds so sweet. I can only guess thats why I wrote the name wrong. So fact is, that SHORT is not his last name.

What will happen now ? Do you think that we will have to send the I-751 again and pay again 625 $ ?

I am so worried now. I will call the USCIS Customer Service on Monday (today it was already closed) but I am wondering if there is anyone that had a similar problem and maybe can tell me what will happen now.

Thank you very much.

Have a great weekend :)

You have to correct it immediately by contacting USCIS by phone or schedule an appointment with Infopass.I think you won't have to pay that big amount again maybe they will ask for additional documents for your son.Good luck and welcome to VJ!

I would suggest infopass also. take a corrected copy of the page with his name on it - to replace the one in their files - write 'Corrected' on top of the page. The people will be able to tell you if this would be enough or not. Good Luck
