if you are worried about completeness of documentation then get IRS transcripts... they are free and can be retrieved relatively quickly.

you'll need the tax transcripts, call IRS or go to google.com and search for IRS tax transcripts

Tax Transcripts are ordered from the IRS at 18008291040 or on the web at www.irs.gov if you can get 2006 and 2007 you do not need your w2's and you should have your w2's from this year or at least be able to get copies fairly easy.

get the transcripts for 2005, 2006, 2007, and bring a photocopy of the 2008 including the W-2's. I filed quickly, and also made a copy of our refund checks (FED & IL). For the I-134 at the interview, recent pay stubs and a recent employment letter are also good to have. Good Luck, Mike & Yizhen

if you have been working for the same company for 4 years, they will send up to 4 years of transcripts. The IRS transcripts show everything that GUZ wants to see. Income, from W-2's is most important. I have been working for the same company for 10 years, so I made a copy of all the W'2's and included it with our I-864.

Call the IRS and ask for all three thanscripts. I've seen mixed reports on when the 2008 transcripts are available but a single phone call with confirm it for you directly. If not available, make a copy of the complete return including all schedules and supporting documentation, including W2 and 1099 forms, if any.
