Hi all,

My conditional GC was set to expire on August 28, 2008. I filed my I-751 in the proper time and was given a 1 year extension letter. I am currently awaiting an interview and realize that my physical card was lost in a recent flood. Should I/How do I apply to have it replaced, since it was expired. If I was not called for an interview, I don't think it would have mattered, as I will either be denied (at which time thew card is meaningless) or approved, at which time a new card would be produced. So, what should I do?????

I realize I could be way off the mark here, that everything is so mast minute, etc, so be gentle, please....

GreenCard Replacing

You should replace your card, since you do not know when your interview is, and the card is your proof your legal to be in the country.

They may ask for your card at the interview - I don't know what may happen at that point.

Your choice if you replace it or not.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

You have extension letter, I would contact USCIS either by phone or by Info-Pass appointment and explain it is the"Expired" conditional card that was lost.

Hopefully they wont make you file an I-90 and pay a large fee only to replace at card that will be replaced with a 10 year card after interview.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
