Hello all,

I need your help with a peice of art I am working on. Central to the piece is the Japanese word Ganbura. I am told Ganbura means something akin to never giving up even when there is no chance of winning (no this has nothing to do with the World Cup :D).

So, I need all our non USC VJers and/or their SOs to help me. Please post how you would convey this concept in your mother tongue...if it takes several words to convey...ok, no problem.

It does not have to be 100% exact - for example I like how Italians so FORZA. I plan to use that as well.

So...please help me. I need to complete the project in about 3 weeks.

I believe it should be "ganbare" (pronounced as "gun"-"baa"- "ray"). Well, Indonesian for that will be "maju terus pantang mundur" or something like that... :D

"Ganbaru" is the infinitive form of the verb. "Ganbare" is what you would actually shout out when watching a game. You could shout out "Tsemppiä!" in my native tongue Finnish :) It has the exact same meaning as the Japanese word.

December 13, 2007 - I-751 submitted to NSC (removing of conditions fun begins...)

December 22 - Received a rejection notice because the form was not "properly signed". Package itself was not returned.

January 1, 2008 - Received packet back from CSC. They are requesting we resubmit the packet (which is already organized by CSC) with a properly signed form.

January 2 - Packet resubmitted to California.

January 12 - NOA1 received (dated 01/07/2008)

January 19 - Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 01/15/2008)

February 1 - Biometrics

March 11 - Approved! Card production ordered (notified via e-mail).

March 20, 2008 - New card arrived in the mail :)

Done until 2018 :)
