Its not yet our time to make any reservations as we are still waiting for our NOA2, just trying to think ahead...so, my question is, should I plan on purchasing round trip tickets and then after we get here, we can call the airlines and ask them for a credit toward another ticket at a future date so we don't waste our money on a ticket we both know my fiancee will not be using coz she will be applying for an adjustment of status after we got married OR just one way tickets for me and my finacee? Anyone who can help us, please feel free to respond... :)

not a K-1 question so moving to :

Usually one way tickets are more expensive than round trip. The type of ticket makes no difference to any immigration issues and will not be an issue.

Buy the cheapest; you don't have to use the other ticket or get credit if you can.

I'm planning on a one way ticket for my son and myself. I am not going to deal with refunds.

My wife will be traveling to visit her family at least twice a year, she has been visiting her family since March 12 2 days after her advanced parole was approved.

I buy her a round trip ticket with the return at least 4 month widow, I can change the flight if I want.

It is my understanding that tickets are nonrefundable after the first leg is flown, but the return can be modified.

Check the prices about once a week and generally buy when they apear the cheapest, this has worked weel up to this point.

I found it far cheaper to buy a return saved me about $400.

I haven't bothered to claim back for not using the return portion, just knowing i saved money is good enough for me.

When you book your ticket just look at the cheapest return date to save even more. as most have found you will probably save $'s by booking a return rather than one-way

It really depends....I've noticed most US carriers prefer return trip ticketing. Overseas carries can be either way. I've purchased a lot of one way tickets from the south pacific that were cheaper than a round trip (about 60% the cost of round trip on Qantas or Air New Zealand). I've had mixed experiences with European based airlines.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, just get what's the cheapest....and there are some pretty good deals on airfare now :)
