Returned Petition Notification

Hello everyone,

I received an email notice today from the Embassy in Dakar "Returned Petition Notification" 221g. It says they are sending my application back to USCIS for review and possible revocation. They have reason to believe my fiance is "ineligible" or there is inaccurate information in the application.

Not exactly sure what this is but my fiance did not have the required Affidavit of Support documents at his interview. He was told by the consular that he could bring it back at a later point. Unfortunantly he did not received the documents in the mail until the day after his interview.

Does anyone have experience with this? and can give me some advise?

Returned petitions are not nice experienced. It may be months before it gets back to your center and then it may languish forever. Email the embassy and see if they will give him another interview or ask why it was rejected. They are supposed to give the reason to him on a form.

By all means contact the embassy ASAP before they send it back to USCIS.

if its delayed due to missing forms return them as quick as possible, you dont want it returned for any reason....get in contact with the embassy and explain, then send, fax etc immediately
