The question would be for those who are already in the US....I wonder what original documents that we've submitted during the interview @ the USEM Manila are given back to us @ the POE? I submitted all original documents and i am hoping to get them all back because i know they will be needed for some other legal processes with regard to Visas, GC, AOS and all others. Hope you could spare sometime to answer my question. Thank you so much!

You will never get anything back. You hand them the envelope, and they keep it.

You fill out an I94 on the plane, and you get your half back from them. Your visa will still be in your passport.

I suggest you start to order original copies of documents again, so as to allow time for them to get to you before you apply for AOS.

I received my original documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate) back at my interview.

At POE the only thing they handed back to me was my passport, and a reminder slip about removing conditions.

This is for CR1 visa

I got all my originals back at the interview (they kept photocopies). I didn't get anything out of the Mysterious Brown Envelope back at POE or when they sent the SSN and green card later.

From what I have read you need to bring originals but if you also bring copies they will view the originals to confirm they are authentic & return them to you, the copies will be kept in your file.

I think once you['re in the US the Marriage Contract & Birth Certificates are the important documents. Nobody here (DMV, SSN, etc) will be asking for NBI Police Clearance.

I would be a good idea to get a copy of the vacinnation records from your medical though as your local doctor in the US will likely ask for it.

My Wifie got 5 copies of the Marriage Contract & her & Gabby's Birth Certificates from the NSO last month.

What about the emails, photos, phone bills, receipts, etc.? Do we get those back?

Yes we get those things you mentioned back the day after your interview....I worry about the original ITR, w-2, bank statements and house appraisal originals. I'll try to see if i can retrieve it once i pick up the visa. Hoping.......
