And that is relevant to the discussion...How? Plate tectonics and continental drift theories are disciplines within themselves. As smart as Chu may be, there was insufficient time to lay any foundation. Silly questions get silly answers.

Thought the real reason was GM was using that area to test out their rope seals they used in V-8 engines for many years, that would alone account for billions of barrels of oil.

EPA also used Venus to test out the new catalytic converter, that is why that planet has an atmosphere of solid sulfuric acid.
