Once the interview is over and she’s or he is approved depending on your personal situation here’s my understanding. The Visa is stamped right in the passport at which time he or she can fly to where ever you are is this correct? In my case can my wife then go right to the airport if she had a ticket to the US the same day with fresh ink on her passport and fly to the US?

:help:

Pardon the spelling the incorrect spelling of respond in the subject title

Not sure if a K-3 is different, but the answer as far as I know is....NO. With our K-1 we had to pay for and present a DHL slip and the passport is sent out to the reciepient within 3 days. In our case we had the DHL package held in Moscow and picked it up the day before our flight to the US.

The do not give you back the passport at the interview. Plan your (her) return accordingly.

Perhaps a K-3 is different. Not sure.

some consulates Used to do same day processing but I don't think any do anymore. I know for Montreal at least (I was one of the last to get same day) now you either have to wait around an extra day and go pick it up or give them a courier envelope and have them send it to you.

Check with the consulate wherever you'll be interviewed and ask them, or its probably listed on their website.

This is true, but in Moscow they don't give you back the passport the same day as the interview. It must be sent out by DHL. I think that is the question he was asking, if she can travel immediately after the interview. My fiancee had her interview and was approved but had to wait for the passport. The interview was on a Friday and the passport arrived at the DHL office in Moscow on Tuesday, I think.

I usually live in germany but i had to go to denmark, to copenhagen, for my visa interview and for the medical cause we got married there and my husband filed for me from the states.

In denmark you get the passport back the same day or one day after your appointment, they make you pick it up when you're not living in denmark. The lady in the cosulate told me that they were sending the passports with the visas outside of denmark too a while ago but then some got lost and since then they don't send visas to addresses outside of denmark anymore...
