Hello Everyone!

I just have a few questions here regarding I-130 and I 129f. My husband and I have discussed about this. Since we are already married here in PI. We filed both forms and my husband just called uscis again today (US time) and the upper support rep that he spoke with told him that our I-130 is already finished! Our I-129f is not done yet but will be finished too week or 2 from now. He did not tell my husband that it was already approved but he congratulated him and told him that hope our interview will goes well and happy for us to be reunited soon. We're both so happy for the good news!

Anyways, based on what we have read on from some posts here...That some petioners/benificiaries wants to cancel their i-129f (K-3 visa) even if its been approved already and choose the i-130 for green card reason. According to what they says...If you will go for the I-130 you will have your green card automatically. The CO will give it to you and or if they have your both files (I-130 & I-129f) then they will give you a recommendation during interview to pick the 1st one and pay $400 for it so you will have your green card right then and don't need to work for it (AOS) when you get to the US.

So...Ok...My questions are these:

1.) Is there anyone here who cancelled their I-129f and chose the I-130 instead in order to get a GC?

2.) Is there anyone here who was given a choice and recommended to pay the amount and have the green card during the interview?

3.) Or, is there anyone that was had their green card when they went to the interview but the CO did not handed it to them so had to wait for another months before they left for the US? If so, how long?

4.) And, what is the process to cancel the I-129f?

Im just curious about this coz my husband have been told to go with the I-130 when it's got aprroved so i will have my green card auto.

Thank you my fellow vj'ers! Any input or response from you guys will be appreciated!

Read somewhere where people cancelled their interview fo the K3 because they are scheduled for interview for CR1/IR1 a few days later.

2.) Is there anyone here who was given a choice and recommended to pay the amount and have the green card during the interview?

Some says it's automatic.... some ask for it. It might depend on the CO

3.) Or, is there anyone that was had their green card when they went to the interview but the CO did not handed it to them so had to wait for another months before they left for the US? If so, how long?

GC is delivered to you when you arrive in US, they are not handed out in Manila. What you are given is a Visa.. either K3 or Cr1/Ir1.

4.) And, what is the process to cancel the I-129f?

call USEM, they should be able to help you.

Im just curious about this coz my husband have been told to go with the I-130 when it's got aprroved so i will have my green card auto.
