Maybe they all went crazy in space!!!!

Or maybe they are telling the truth. I would tend to believe them more than just about anyone else.

same here...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Remember that Einstein said that we couldn't go AT the speed of light but going faster is allowed. I am sure that we will eventually find a way to circumvent that roadblock. There is a multitude of theories as to how to do that. Wormholes, interdimensiononal travel, spacetime warping and many other ways have been postulated. The point is this, I doubt if a really advanced race would be limited to light speed travel. Given the age of the universe the chances are very high that there are many such civilizations out there. Also, given that we are now becoming able to find earth-like planets out there it only stands to reason that our blue water planet has already been found by others. I really do believe that we have been visited. It may be that they are keeping a low profile out of some non-interference directive. But sooner or later the cat will be out of the bag. I think it will be sooner rather than later.

No, nothing can go faster than light, well, anything with mass that is.

Because as you approach the speed of light, your mass increases, which increases the fuel needed to go faster, eventually it gets to "infinite" so you can't go any faster. (infinite mass, infinite fuel required)

Scientists in the lab have made particles go to 99.99 the speed of light, and this theory is shown, no matter how much power they put into the thing, it won't go up to and pass lightspeed. (though 99.99 is impressive).

Even at that speed, it would take 4 years (and some change) to travel to the nearest star. Then you have to toss in the "twin paradox" - where the person travelling at these speeds will not age as fast as people not travelling, so when that traveller returns, 100's of years have past (or so - depends how far/long they went).

Now - wormholes, like you mention, are the way to go. I doubt they would use interdimensional travel, since other dimensions are in theory very, very, very small and all compressed together.

Read Stephen Hawking's "A brief history of time" - great book on this subject.

Do they drink beer?

I hope so :)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Read your special relativity. Going faster than light speed is not excluded.

Another consequence of relativity--or more properly, of the early quantum theory Einstein developed at the same time--is that light, even though it's a wave, can sometimes act as a stream of particles, which we call photons. These can travel at "c"--the speed of light--because they have no mass, which sets a handy precedent: anything massless can travel that fast. But what about faster? Interestingly, the equations are symmetrical; it takes infinite energy to reach the speed of light, but not to exceed it, so while there's no way for a slower-than-light particle to become a faster-than-light one, a particle which starts out faster than light--and stays that way--is permitted by the theory. In 1967, physicist Gerald Feinberg even coined a name for such particles: the Greek word "tachyon" (roughly, "swift thing").

Sure it is totally theoretical. But at one time flying faster than sound was too. If a way is found to "jump over" the speed of light we can go faster.

exactly, we have not figured out everything or all means of travel
