A question about case status updates online. I received my NOA1. In the letter it gives instructions on where to go to check the status of my case. But when I go to the USCIS website it says my case can not be found. And it has been a couple of weeks already. I called their customer help phone number and the rep said it may never show up online. Is this something that i should dig deeper in to or let it be and remain blind until they send me a notice by mail? I would hate to upset some people by calling about this. Maybe it will show up down the road.. *shrug*

The receipt number begins with a WAC and is processing through the California processing center.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

ALOT of people are having problems accessing their case status, it seems helpless and not worth your time to keep checking. It may show up along the road, but then again, just like the rep said and many of us are/have experienced it may not... i would say if you dont get another NOA or the paperwork that you are supposed to get within the specified time aloited like the usual 90 days, i would call in and check with the rep on the status of your case.

here is the link;

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

try to click it says ONLINE then enter your case/receipt # on that box, even you didn't create your account yet still you can view your case status but the better if you have your account on USCIS site, less update if you didn't sign up. Just try.

Its a fairly pointless system for a lot of people. Ours worked but it never displayed any information! I was approved without any touches or anything. One day it said case pending, the next day it said case approved. They will e-mail the USC when the case is approved, so you will likely hear about it there before you go check your case status anyways.

I'm one of those people who can't check their status online. My AOS is done already but when I tried checking online still I can't see it. Through the whole process it is only through mail that I got updates and instructions. And also if your case will appear online it is not updated promptly. It is always late. USCIS said their site has a problem, don't know why they can't fix this. There are lots of money coming in in USCIS everyday. hmmmmmmp! So just wait the letters in your mail. It could be better that way, less frustration and less stress.

My reciepts are not being accepted either, and nor are they being recognised on the phone system. I talked to a customer service rep today, and she told me they were having "technical difficulties", and I am sure that is what they are just saying for the sake of an answer. But she told me everything about my case at the moment, and how much longer i would need to wait.... on average!
