Hi All VJers,

I have few questions that I am hoping that those who passed the interview already can give answers or clarifications to these few concerns.

1. "NO RECORD ON FILE" in my NBI clearance is this just okey? No need to ask for a letter from the NBI or have the remark change to No Derogatory Record on File?

I read a post about this topic but i just wanna make sure someone had the same remark and passed the interview.

2. When the consul asked for this clearance did he/she just took the Original Copy? No need for him to see if I still have my Personal Copy?

I attempted to renew my clearance hoping to change the remark to "No Derogatory File on Record" but since I am in Bacolod right now, it'll take a week to renew it and my interview is on April 29 already, too late. Anyways, i dont know what I was thinking yesterday but i did renew it and i passed my personal copy. Now I am worried that the consul will be looking for it aside from the original copy.

3. What are the documents that he took from you and did not return back after the interview?

Thank you very,very much.

no record on file or no derogatory record are both fine... meaning no explanation needed... and yes if you can get the most recent one (closer to your date) the better... and they will take that copy together w/ your bc and cenomar (if requested)... plus your DSFORMS and I-134 and some important docs... the rest like snail mails, photos, chat logs, money transfers etc will be return to you... you can get NBI anywhere. ive heard there's one in the mall in manila that you can get it in an hr... in my city, you can get it right away too... they didnt take my personal copy nor ask from it... they only want the other half... good luck to you!!! God bless

 I agree with RonMay. But if you want to get a new NBI in malls, you have to have your personal copy and NBI ID, that is just based on my experience.

"No Record on File" and "No Derogatory record on File" are fine. The "No Criminal record" is the one that requires explanation.

NBI CLEARANCE: Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record”, "No pending criminal case” or “With derogatory record.” NBI is located along Taft Avenue in Manila. You may contact NBI at (632) 523-82-31 to 38. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is considered valid only for one year from the date it is issued.

sis hope it help....
