Not everything is about money.

Something you have to teach the bad guys a lesson, even if it costs a billion dollars.

A .50 caliber round fired by a US military member teaches the same lesson as if it were fired by a private security guard. The only difference is who funds that .50 caliber round.

The Seals are better shots.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Right, the average deer hunter or any idiot with a 1/2 hour of practice could have done this. Please, try again.

So..... hitting a "head-sized" target at 50 yards with a scoped rifle is hard?

The Seals are better shots.

So we needed Seals to take those shots? And we the tax payers needed to pay for the entire operation?

I'm with the OP. If you're doing business in a dangerous area, you know it's dangerous yet you choose to go there anyway (to make more money) then the American tax payers shouldn't have to come bail you out. That said, operating a shipping business in international waters should be safe, but is it our responsibility to make it so?

If you wanted to start a fruit plantation in South America but the local govt. was too busy fighting civil wars, is it America's job to come in and set up a puppet government so you can now trade as you wish? Why should the tax payers have to fund your private.......

oops. Just remembered, the U.S. government has always "invested" tax payer dollars and military lives to ensure rich people have the "right" to conduct business whenever and wherever they choose to do so. So long as they keep those campaign contributions coming in!

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

When it is night and both shooter and targets are on the water and bobbing around? I mean I'm sure that you could do it blindfolded, but you're not like everyone else.

Yes it is. The businesses "choose to go there" because you and I "choose to consume" a fuckload of oil every day.
