Medical finally scheduled despite not having packet 4

Well today has been my busy day for Visa stuff. I went to the doctor`s and got my TD and MMR(which baffled the community nurse but there ya go). She was reading up on MMR while i was there and she read that America had all but eradicated Measles or something. I guess they don`t want it coming back. ha.

Then i called the embassy and spent aabotu 10 minutes and lots of money on the run around with them on various premium rate numbers. I got through to an operator at one point who transferred me back to a machine before i could plead to her humanity.

So then i came back to the compute to email them again. I am also going to write to them i think. They need to send out the packet again.

Then i called for the medical again. This was something i have tried before and i was told i needed the packet 4. I was not optimistic since i still don`t have packet 4 but i kept talking and the girl on the phone seemed to back down and changed "you can`t" into "we don`t encourage" or words to that effect. I pointed out that i had my interview soon and needed to get the medical booked at least. She said how there were things in the packet that she had to go through etc etc. I explained that i had my case number and all my shots were sorted. So she booked me an appointment. Hooray.

So i just need a passport photo and directions. Should not be a problem.

So yeah monday i am off to London.

Hopefully this is near the end of the journey.

I swear they make it as hard as they can.

Oh yeah and i called the agency i am currently working for(i do agency work as it allows frequent trips to USA etc) and they offered to write me a reference which was nice of them as i had not even thought about it.

Sure you can. I went Friday with Paul to our medical which he booked before he received packet 4. In fact, doesn't the checklist in packet 3 say 'medical booked'. If you can't turn in packet 3 until you have the medical booked how do you get to packet 4?

Hmm, confusing. Well anyway. We went friday, it was easy to find, an easy process and they were SO incredibly nice! We were there for about an hour and half (big delay, they were very busy that day) then we had a nice afternoon in London.

Just by happenstance we got our packet 4 three days before the medical.

Joey

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

Well i didn`t get a packet 3 either but that was because i am on a CR1 visa. I was also told i could not get my medical without my packet 4 but it seems they were persuaded in my case at least.

Hi, glad you could book...

Don't quite understand why they are being difficult at the medical centre, as I booked it with the case number and way before we sent packet 3! but, who knows....

On the other hand, I find it quite easy to get to the Embassy by getting off at Bond Street tube station, then getting out towards Oxford Street and turning left, you go straight ahead and will see all the big shops (Debehams, House of Fraser, Selfridges) on your right hand side... If you haven't taken your pic yet, there's a little place on Oxford Street that takes them for £11.95 (cheapest I could find). It is called Passport Pictures, it is a little door next to a Laura Ashley (or Karen Millen, not sure) shop... If I'm not wrong and remember well, you will find the Embassy by turning left right after you pass the picture place, Marks & Spencer is in the corner accross... If you go straight ahead all the time, you'll get to the side Embassy, you'll see a statue there and all the fences...

For me, that is the quickest, fool proof way to get there... Maybe somebody else has an easier one?

Good luck!

Thanks a lot. I appreciate that. The Embassy emailed me today to say that they resent the Packet 4 information to me so hopefully this time i get it.
