I have finally decided to hire an attorney !

And I have just about had it with them ! :angry:

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well,they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit,nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !


June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again,still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Certainly a senator can do more for you at this stage. Lawyers can do very little for you at the consulate stage. As far as I know, few consulates allow lawyers to attend the interview. Is Panama one of them?

My fiance was already interviewed,I am hiring an attorney because they've sat on his case for 10 months and are playing games ! :angry:

Its your money, but not sure what he/she can do. Hopefully you hired someone with waiver experience.

Based on your timeline, your fiance is asking for a waiver. So they (the consulate & USCIS) need to review whether your hardship case is enough to overlook what he did wrong. Your case may not be strong enough, but it has already been presented and I don't believe an attorney can do anymore than you -- email/call the consulate, call DOS.

Maybe you should have gotten one to assist with the waiver application - make sure your hardship case well presented.

And if your senator's office wasn't helpful in getting info, did you try your (house of) representative's office?

FYI - my husband's AR took 11 months, Tammy's husband took 13+ months -- and these are men without any criminal background or any marks against them.

I have my senator and congressman's office involved in this.

Its your money, but not sure what he/she can do. Hopefully you hired someone with waiver experience.

FYI - my husband's AR took 11 months, Tammy's husband took 13+ months -- and these are men without any criminal background or any marks against them.

The counsalate keeps playing games,they haven't even forwarded it back to the USCIS yet !

Been there,done that !

Congressmen don't count! Senators that have immigration specialist can kick ####. Did for me a couple times in our process.

Been there, done that also with comgressman also.

Mine was worthless!!!
