Miss California loses Miss USA...

Seriously though, I don't really mind about the pageants for adults, but the kiddy ones bother me. Who in their right mind would put their little girl in for one of those? They look like dolls, it's rather sad and a bit scary.

Seems odd to me, it's not like your typical librul elite is going to frequent fashion shows is it?

I imagine its because a gay guy is a more politically correct judge of this event than the sort of cigar-smoking, bottom-slapping chauvanist type you'd normally expect.

Dunno, seems that would be what the contest is about, chauvenism - but as I do not get it...

Who? Stupid b1tches who have usually extremely low self esteem and ####### lives --- so let's make little Jasmina work on her inadequacy since she is 3. I find those kiddie pageants beyond disgusting.

Those poor children do not look like dolls; they look like mini-hookers. And it is always nice to know there are "mothers" who are prompt to bring candy to the pedophiles of the world. **.

Agree 100%. Baby pageants are disgusting. Mothers living through their kids is all it is.

I'm sure everyone would be OUTRAGED about PC gone wild if Ted Nugent had been a judge, he asked Miss California what she thought about assault rifles, she said she thought they should be banned and then she lost.

Although if the Nuge was the judge you could bring more straight men over to an event where they were only recently allowed to wear bikinis in the swimsuit competition.....

Now now... why would you bring logic into this argument? That is just mean. :P

i'd call the first para more of a red herring.

not really - they ask all kinds of questions about current events at beauty pageants. that could be one of them - the judge who asked might not like the response and rated the candidate accordingly. would certain people be upset if the contestant was "only voicing her opinion" and they believed she didn't win as a result? I seriously doubt it.

I think I'd find it hard to conjure up a strong opinion about a beauty contest, no matter who was judging it.

I think they're pretty peculiar to be honest.

personally i think she should be able to voice her opinion about any question thrown her way without repercussions. and if she'd said she was against assault rifles, so be it.

If the judges can't judge her answers, then who is being politically correct?

You gotta be kidding me.

He isn't.

The questions are part of the contest from what I understand. And they're judging subjective "values" so...

You can't really argue political correctness in connection with an event that's about as far from political correctness as its possible to get!

And just who would be p!ssing a stream about being PC if the below situation had happened and people complained? Political Correctness is a two-sided street that you seem walk on only one side of it.

Being a leader is about trying to be neutral in all grounds, unless you're a leader of the cult, religious, or a small group. If you're representing an entire nation, it's best to be neutral in public. Keep that hate inside.

Who?? Like every news caster on every channel other than Fox News. But this issue isn't done. We are only just now hearing about it (on Fox). When the conservative masses hear this- just coming off their Tea Parties- their heals are going to be dug in even deaper than they were before. Perez's actions hurt his own cause worse than anything. He just knocked a lot of people who didn't really have strong opinions about this issue off the fence and into the "hate" yard as you like to refer to it, because while people may not actually "hate" gays, most "hate" to be told how they are supposed to think. They might not huddle in large masses like the left wing protesters. They do it in more affective means- like at the polls.

I agree with that. This schmuck Perez was being an #######. But I don't agree with the premise that this is an issue of political correctness, because it goes both ways - if the contestant should be allowed to be honest, the judge should be able to judge her answer. The criteria over how the judges rank these girls is irrelevant. As if a contest that judges beauty is politcally correct in of itself. The whole thing is a spectacle of NPC.

 Why don't you name a few "great leaders" who modeled this "neutral" style?

She was penalized for expressing a politically unacceptable viewpoint, which is the essense of PC.
