Received a touch last week

We filed on 01/06 had one touch on 01/08 then nothing until last week. We received a touch on 04/16 and I was really hoping this would be our approval (especially since so many Jan filers were approved on that day) but I haven't received an email, a case status update, or approval by mail. I'm starting to worry that I've gotten my hopes up for nothing. :crying:

Can anyone shed some light on what else this touch may have been for? Thanks!

sometimes you get the approval before they update your case online.

or - they just moved it around in the department.

hang in there.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

*keeping fingers crossed for you* - a touch is a great thing, I hope they keep touchin' that file for you!!

Btw, our status on the USCIS site still says NOA-1/pending, no updates or anything - we found out about our NOA-2 in a letter. In addition, the NVC "has no record" of our file (according to their automated system), and yet we got a letter from them last week saying that our case was forwarded to London. So it's anyone's guess how these places do things, one hand not knowing what the other one is doing and so on.

Wow! I knew the system was flawed but really just wow! That's what is so frustrating, people are being as patient as possible waiting to be with their loved ones and we can't even rely on the system for accurate information.

I'm just going to keep checking my mail box each day with new hope that one of these days our approval will be in there waiting for us.

Good luck to everyone on their journey and I have to say we are one strong group of people to be going through all this to be with the ones we love. Here's wishing fast approvals to all my fellow VJ'ers!
