filling form I-129F

Hey everyone, we are filling the form I-129F... and we are on the question #10 on the petitioner's side and it says

My citizenship was acquired through

Birth in the U.S. Naturalization

Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued.

So She is an American through birth in the US. so when putting the number of certificate, can she put the number of her passport or does she have to use her birth certificate?

If by birth in the US she doesn't put any number.

Put N/A or NONE

Niether - citizenship by birth doesn't come with a naturalization certificate number. (leave the the cert.# blank)

In your case, only need to check the box “Birth in the U.S.” and leave the space below blank or you can write “N/A“ or “NOT APPLICABLE“, which is require to complete by people who check the box “Naturalization”

Agreed. Put N/A. The photocopy of her passport serves as proof when you check the box "Birth in the US."

The way I interpreted that question was that it is asking for the information from either box you select above.

Indeed, my birth certificate has a number, date and place where issued.

Since that second part does not say "naturalization", just "Certificate", I filled it in with my info on the birth certificate. There is nothing in the instructions or on the form that it applies just for naturalization.

I had no problems with USCIS, petition was passed through with no issues.

With that said, putting in the info, or putting in N/A will work if your using a birth certificate.
