I apologize for asking this question as I'm sure it has been covered somewhere deep within the forums, but my fiancée is going for her interview in Frankfurt tomorrow for a K-1 Visa and may have a bit of a problem. I understand the mass bureaucracy that is the government and usually like to keep copies of anything that I submit, but she has lost copies of her DS-156 and DS-157. She has already submitted them to the embassy. My question is regarding whether or not these copies are necessary to bring to the interview seeing as they already have them on hand. I would help her redo them, but I worry the information may not match the originals (we all know how that is). I understand there are two items that need to be signed in front of the consular officer, but do they use the original copies submitted to them in packet 3? She is bringing her DS-230 Part II with her, she's at least kept a copy of that. I'm sorry if this sounds a little confusing and hope someone can clear up this situation for me. Thank you =)
