I am confused by both posts here. We were told by the US Embassy in Taiwan my wife could NOT get her medical done before the package is delivered to her after the DS-230 and I-864 are completed. We asked because I was in Taiwan in February to get a medical for my extended Taiwan residency permit and we thought as long as we were at the hospital why not get both done.

Are you saying you got the medical forms off the web and scheduled your medical exam and had them delivered to the embassy before they even got your package? If so under what case number would they be filed?

In Germany you go to the Doctor who does the medical without an appointment. It is a walk through office. I didnt need any papers besides my passport and the fee and my medical history. But that was for the K3 originally, but as it looks like it doesnt make a difference if I take the CR1 route now.And they told me I dont need the case number. I think it is different from country to country.

It is different in each country. In Germany, you don't need your case number to get the medical. Also, you don't get the stuff, they send it directly to the embassy.

My wife is waiting for the application packet for CR1 from the Frankfurt consulate. I figured that would contain information about where to get the medical done, but it seems like from your postings that she could get that done beforehand. Is there a listing of doctors somewhere or should she just wait for the packet?

Thanks
