In the affidavit, what should we really put for item 11? In the examples it said to write N/A. But I feel afraid to do that because its asking if we intend to make specific contributions to the fiancee. Im confused about this now..

Also in item 10 it asks if we a ever sponsored before. So for this I put my fiancee's name and state its currently in process? Or just her name?

I dont know why I get hung up on such little details...

Item 10 --- Put NONE if you have NEVER submitted the Affidavit of Support to anyone other your fiancee

Item 11 --- Put DO NOT INTEND

Hope it helps. I understand your nervousness. I was the same as well. Got hung up on every little detail. So, take it easy and goodluck

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

songsparrow,

Item #10 - I followed exactly what was shown on the example form here on VisaJourney. You have submitted a visa petition to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of someone (i.e. your fiancee). I think item #9 is where you will list NONE, if you have never previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for anyone.

Item #11 - I also followed this one exactly as was shown on the example here on VisaJourney (i.e. N/A K-1 Visa Process for Permanent Residence).

Heck yeah :) ... I still have a copy of the affidavit here in my office and I stand corrected on my answer :) ... Like I have stated a few times before, Loan was never given any hard time about any forms so, I guess we filled them out all correctly. Good luck

Kevin&Loan,

I see that you've corrected yourself, however this is the one answer that should not be used.

Not all that long ago, only 1 or 2 versions back, item 11 had a qualifying note that it was to be answered only if the visa applicant would be in the USA temporarily. The qualification is gone, but the answer on the example form has not changed and apparently the thought is still valid at the consulates.

Nevertheless, I answer the question with 'yes, will provide housing, clothing, food, and all incidental living expenses'.

My co-sponsor (father) and I both followed the VisaJourney example exactly (i.e. N/A K-1 Visa for permanent residence). I didn't check either "intend" or "do not intend".

Do I need to go back and do this again? That notary at the US Consulate in HCMC was $30USD! :(

At the very early stage of our journey, our attorney puts down:

"Yes, will provide shelter, clothes, foods, medical etc. as long as we are still under the intention of being married and K-1 Visa status" Something like that, basically, my attorney has absolutely no "romance and compassion" for her job is to protect her client (me) when she wrote that piece on my A.S. form. Her idea was "just in case thing doesn't work out, you will have a limited protect or reduced risk of losing everything, but i'm sure your marriage is solid, it's 'just in case' "

crazy lawyer people....:D

"You always get what you've always gotten if you always do what you always did."

STL_HCMC,

Probably not. The anecdotal evidence is that many people follow the VJ example and I've never read any reports of a problem doing so. This appears to be a question that is not very significant, the I-134 appears to be primarily useful as a means to summarize one's financial information.
