Vaccines/medical exam

Hello all,

I was wondering, do they give the required vaccines during the medical exam, that is required during the CR-1/I-130 visa process, or do they have to get all the required vaccinations on their own, prior to the medical exam?

I am trying to figure everything out and be as prepared as possible because we will be filing for the visa in the next week or two.

Thanks Much!

Steve

If you cannot demonstrate vaccination history, the medical exam will provide the required ... for an added fee

YMMV

Yes, you can have all vacinnes done on the spot. Yet, call prior you medical because some places don't have the vaccines there, and you need to buy them and bring them (it was the case where I took mine, though I did not have to bring any).

You can actually get blood test done to determine if you had the desired vaccinations in the past.

Did anyone try getting the blood test done and show the Dr. as a proof?

Hi,

I asked my wife if she or her mom had vaccination records, she said no her mom had lost them. She must have had something because the vaccination mark is on her arm, it must have been from when she was little. Since it has been so long, would it be worth having a blood test since with age don't they require being vaccinated again or booster shots?

Thanks much!

Yes, I had all of my titres done to determine immunity and that was perfectly acceptable at my medical. Keep in mind that NOT all panel physicians provide missing vaccinations. It varies from office to office and country to country. It is always best to check with the panel physician you will be seeing. Always better to be prepared than held up at a later stage. Good luck

I'm in your wife's shoes actually..According to my mom, I've got all my vac. 20-25 years ago, when I was little. And I was even in another country,so there is no way of getting any of these medical records at all.

I went to my family doc. and asked for blood test done to see If I'm still immuned to those diseases or If I need some of them re-done.....When I get the result,I'm hoping to show it to Dr. in Canada and solve the issue....

This process may vary from country to country...also so much easier to get bunch of vac. that u don't even need.

Sorry, I was going to post it in my last reply but was a bit lazy.

There is only one panel physician between Vancouver and Montreal and that is inToronto. Here is the link to their website which will give you all of the information you need.

Personally,I'd rather getting blood test done and get only the ones that I need as opposite having bunch of vacinations...In the end,it's your choice...
