Interview date rescheduled, looking for advice.

Well, my fiance's interview date was originally scheduled for the 22nd of April, and he just received a letter today rescheduling the interview for the 21st of May. This is pretty disappointing, as we already started making plans around the first date. As silly as it sounds, I bought concert tickets for the 31st of May, and I doubt he'll be able to squeeze an arrival comfortably between the second interview and the concert. Oh well, just a concert. He's just the only person I wish to go with.

We can live with the rescheduling, but we're divided on how to approach it. We've been told, and read on VJ, to attend the original interview date to avoid having our visa denied, and that he'll either be told to go to the second date, or they'll interview him on the original date. What is the likelihood of the latter, being interviewed on the original date, have? Has that ever happened to anyone?

Alright, so that's one option. I felt he should call the embassy to find out, but he wants to just go on the original date unannounced. Is it better to call them ahead of time to find out what's up, or just show up to the original date?

Thank you for any responses. I will keep this thread updated with our experiences come the original interview date and what we find out from the embassy.
