Hi, we are about 1 week from the 90 day mark on the EAD and i'm getting ready to schedule an infopass. From anyone's experience what was there results from this. My understanding is that we go in, they will effectively tell us they will contact whoever currently has the application requesting an immediate decision on that specific application. Then the service center processes it and sends it out. I assume then that after the infopass we should expect EAD/AP within say 2 weeks.

Is this the experience most people have? Did they find this also dislodges their AOS to some degree...either a CSC transfer shortly there after or an interview date?

Anyone who has chased their EAD via infopass plz drop a line or two and let me know your experience. I've noted that probably over 1/2 of all EADs go over the 90 day mark so I suspect that there are quite a few of you.

Thanks in advance.

I went WAAAY over 90 days. Even taking out the days that my case was on hold due to an RFE, my EAD took around 130 days. My experiences of various means of poking USCIS into action are as follows:

  • Customer Service/Misinformation line: Useless, as expected
  • InfoPass: Couldn't get an appointment (seriously, try to get an EAD InfoPass appt for zip 30004, you won't be able to)
  • CIS Ombudsman: Promised to investigate and get back to me in a week, but didn't hear from them again until about a month after my EAD came, about a month later.
  • Congressional Rep: Good! Got us an answer from a real person at USCIS who evidently ordered that the case be moved along. Unfortunately the result was an RFE  but the EAD turned up shortly after we returned it :D

By all means try the earlier options (some people have reported good results from the CIS Ombudsman's office) but the latter is the one the works.

Realistically though, I should imagine that you'll get your card in the next few weeks. It's rare (as far as I can tell) for an EAD application to drag on as long as mine did.

My EAD seems to be delayed as well. I went for infopass after 95 days (125days including case suspended due RFE). They told me that I should receive my EAD within next week or two but just in case I should make another infopass apointment before I leave the office lol

I waited almost 2 weeks and the only thing I received was second RFE!!! Now waiting again. I'll make infopass appointment maybe for the next week.

Haven't seen any evidence that an infopass appointment for EAD has any effect(s) on the processing of AOS (and/or AP) since they're adjudicated separately (doesn't mean no evidence exists though).

As long as there have been no RFEs issued for the AOS/EAD/AP - most folks can expect the EAD to get approved somewhere within the 70-90 day range (some much less, some more).

Am not certain scheduling an infopass on the 90-day (or so) mark will accomplish much - but it is certainly worth a shot; I wouldn't get my expectations terribly high though (and certainly would not have any expectations in regard to the AOS).
