I just read in somebodies post that his fiancees' daughter need a letter from her biological father stating it was ok for her to leave the country. I think their country was brazil. Does this apply to all countries? the Philippines in particular. What of there is no contact with the real father?

Yes pretty sure this applies to all countries when only one parent is leaving to another country. I would say get the letter anyway. In Colombia they can not leave the airport without a special letter. As long as the father is listed on the birth certificate this is a must

Good luck

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

I had the same question as your's posted here months ago. PPl here said you don't need the father's consent if you are not legally married to him/her..Some say yes you need some say no but I really hope no coz we are on the process of getting my kids too.But i will be going home for their interview and my kids will be travelling with me if God's willling.

You can send an email to the consulate and ask or check their website for required documents. In almost all countries (I would say ALL countries but there may be an exception or two) you need either a letter from the father or a court order of sole custody. If a letter is presented, typically you need a copy of the father's photo and signature page from a passport or other government issued photo ID

Nothing but a Manila specific answer matched to the OP's circumstances will be of any value. The Philippines is one of the unique countries in this regard. No need to or point in speculating based on other countries.
