I called Monday about my husbands case, which they could not speak to me because he was not present. I was told at that time it was about a six month wait. He called yesterday and he was told they were currently process at CSC the October 3 applications. I called back today since he is now past 6 months and was told by Jose Chavez at USCIS that the I 485 family based adjustment of status is only processed at the local office not at the California service center and the current processing times for the I 485 is one year.

These people have no idea of what they are talking about. I am currently on hold with them again and they are again insisting that California does not process these applications.

Sorry but I am really, really frustrated right now and hoping my hubby comes home soon so maybe I can get a supervisor on the phone to find out what is going on

It has been more than six months and we have heard nothing.

These people are a waste of our tax money and time.

Sorry for your frustration, you should be getting straight answers, but, if your case has not been transferred to CSC, they aren't processing it, it is either still at National benefits or at a local office. I see from your timeline that you have received the receipt and the AP and done the biometrics. Unfortunately, the next step, getting to the interview, can take much longer than six months, especially with a beneficiary from Iran.

Hope you hear something soon.

Your next step is gonna be to receive an Appoinment Letter. I don't think your case will be transferred

to CSC which requires no interview. Since they (USCIS) do profile, especially your husband who comes from Iran

will face definitely an interview. Did you guys apply for EAD also ?

Your case is probably in NVC (Missouri) or at your local USCIS office in KY.

FYI, people who applied for AOS in January 2009 began receiving their GC nowadays.

GOOD LUCK !.......
