I got the e-mail approval of my NOA2 petition yesterday(April 16th). When should I start calling NVC for the information I need in order to track to the embassy? Thank you.

You could start calling next week, it can't really do any harm. Probably will get there towards end of next week or the week after.

Remember when calling that you must ignore automated system and speak directly to an operator. Press '1' then '5' as soon as you get through (it's often busy, be patient).

Congrats - but you will probably just spin your wheels calling them.

They were pretty much on the button of the time estimate (2 weeks after CSC sent it to them, then they sent it off to the Embassy, and I received a letter from them stating this).

Hey you might not even need to call NVC they have been doing really good with timing lately. I got my NOA2 on 3/17/09 and a week later on 3/24/09 i got my letter in the mail from NVC. I Wish you all the best on the rest of the journey.

The NVC is so fast these days that I got their letter before my NOA2. Just kidding, but this has happened to a few of us. I like to think the government is solving its backlog problems through the invention of a time machine.

I am the "tracker" for all the CR1/IR1 February filers. I can tell you that right now NVC# are between 11 days and 21 days (I got mine in 19 days), from NOA2 date. So I'd start calling at the end of April.

NVC seems to be pretty quick, I didnt even have time to make the call to enquire.

NOA2 date 8 April

NVC sent to consulate 14 April

NVC notice received 15 April

Arrived at consulate 16 April

You can use the automated system. This allows you to make as many calls as you want. After 20 days of no information then ask for an operator. It will only be at the NVC for a few days, but it always feels great to hear the update at that level.

Your interview will be quick and successful.
