hi,

on the 134 affidavit of support for a k1 fiance visa,

i am concerned about the line that asks about mortgages and other encumberances.

my income meets the requirements. i have really bad credit and am wondering if this will be a problem and/or will they check my credit.

i was going to leave the mortgage / encumberance line blank along with the other lines that asks about bank balances since my income is good. i did list my automobile loan of $7500.00 that i owe.

so, just asking should i not be worried or should i be ?

thank you for your help.

If your income meets the requirements, leave the rest blank. They do not check/care about your credit. The only things I have read that cause a problem are IRS tax leins (not payments being made for past taxes, tax leins) or upaid child support.

Erase the part about your automobile loan. They are not asking about loans except to establish an equity in some property you claim as an "asset" You are not using assets. Leave it blank

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV
