At the bookstore I worked in a few years ago - there was a guy who'd go into the first stall and drill a hole through the partition wall, so he could have a crotch-level view of the men using the urinals.

I think the primary objection will be with respect to protecting young people, especially those who are too old to be escorted by mommy or daddy, but still too young to have a clue, from pedophiles.

So what does a Dad do when he's out with his 3 yr. old daughter at the mall, and she needs to poo? Or a mother with her small son? What I've seen some Moms and Dads do is bring their child with them, even if they are the opposite sex.

I've seen that - the dad takes the little girl into the gents with him. Nothing wrong with that...

I have seen a mother stand her son up on a trash bin in the middle of a busy high street to let him urinate into it. I thought that was a bit much.

I think the point is that these laws don't provide any sort of protection.

What they do is give the police a basis for kicking someone out or arresting them if they are caught in the restroom. A lot of train stations have signs that prohibit washing and shaving, which sounds ridiculous on the face of it - until you realise that its aimed at allowing the police to evict bums.

Exactly. So if a 12 year old girl is in a ladies room, runs into what appears to be a man - today she can justifiably question his being there. Maybe he made a mistake. Maybe he just had to go. Maybe he's a perv. However you look at it, he doesn't belong. It's clear and that clarity gives her the courage to say something.

In the future, when the 12 year old girl (who is all for LGBT rights, as 12 year olds are wont to be) will no longer enjoy the clarity of knowing that this person, who appears to be a man, doesn't belong there. He could have less than honorable intentions, but no one will say anything because...... maybe he thinks he's a chick? Maybe he's allowed to be there?

If TG's want to go to the ladies room, then at least give pre-teens and teens the ability to have their own bathroom. Children can just go with mom and dad.

Can you give us an age range you are talking about? For example, if you (Dad) have a daughter who is between the ages of say, 5-7, you stand outside the women's bathroom and wait for her, keeping a watchful eye on who goes in.

Does beg the question as to how someone would *know* that the TG person using the bathroom is male or female, unless of course we're assuming that they all have heavy beards, bad wigs and big hands.

We're not talking about actual TGs dude.

We're talking about men who claim to "think they're women" and walk in and expect to be allowed to hang around.
